Sonnedix closes EUR 172M financing for 55MW Sonnedix Hitachi Juo in Japan

TOKYO, Japan – Sonnedix Japan, on behalf the global solar independent power producer (IPP) Sonnedix has achieved financial close for the refinancing of 55MW Sonnedix Hitachi Juo, from MUFG Bank, Joyo Bank, and 7 co-financing regional banks.

The project, located in the Ibaraki prefecture, was acquired in December 2020. It started operations in August 2017, and it’s currently under a feed-in-tariff until August 2037.

“Transactions like these further demonstrate our commitment to the Japanese market, and allows us to continue growing sustainable, optimising our assets throughout their entire life cycle, and play a social citizen role in the communities where we operate” said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix.

Sonnedix Japan KK (“Sonnedix Japan”) currently manages 288MW of operational solar PV capacity on behalf of Sonnedix, with a further 304MW in various stages of construction and development.
