Nippon Solar Services (NSS) completes first mega-solar power plant in Japan

NSS, has completed its first mega-solar power plant, located two hours west of Tokyo in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, with funding from Sonnedix. Hitachi Systems, Ltd. constructed the 2MW plant and will perform operation and maintenance activities. Financing under a lease structure was provided by Hitachi Capital Corporation. As part of its commitment to supporting local communities, NSS contributed a small solar system for the Hokuto City community center.
Mark Bogner, COO of NSS, said: “We are very pleased to be delivering our first renewable electricity to the Japanese electrical grid. With another high quality Hitachi-built power plant due to be completed in May, and with several larger projects in advanced stages of development, we are looking forward to a very exciting future in Japan.”
